Hong Kong – The value of reminbi bonds issued in Hong Kong last year totalled RMB 16 billion,  Financial Secretary John Tsang said.

“We hope to further promote the development of RMB bond business in Hong Kong, such as expanding the issuance size of bonds and increasing the types of bond issuers and the classes of qualified investors,”  he said.

Tsang said he hoped Hong Kong would become the launch-pad for all new policies concerned with the liberalization of China’s capital account, particularly with the regionalization and internationalization of the RMB.
