Hong Kong – Hong Kong has overtaken London to become the world’s second largest wine auction centre since the abolition of import duties in 2008, Financial Secretary John Tsang said.

The total value of wine imports reached $4 billion in 2009, a 41 pct year-on-year increase.

The government will continue to explore other measures to strengthen Hong Kong’s position as a regional wine trading and distribution hub.
